A confrontation between a citizen and an El Paso County Election Department employee was reported Friday at a polling location.

Officials said the incident happened around 4 p.m. at an early voting polling location at Marty Robbins Recreation Center.

Deputies said an employee with the county election department called deputies.

Deputies said a citizen was accused of knocking a cell phone from the campaign worker’s hand, causing minor damage to the phone.

A report was generated and an investigation will be conducted to determine what charges, if any, are appropriate.

No one was injured.
