Police stop 2 DWI drivers at same time in east El Paso intersection

    El Paso police stopped two vehicles after they drove through a red light and discovered the traffic light violation wasn't the only thing wrong.

    The traffic stop was made early Thursday morning around 1 a.m. at the intersection of North Zaragoza Road and Saul Kleinfield Drive in east El Paso.

    A police officer spotted two cars run a red light, according to police spokesman Darel Petry.

    Elizetta Acosta, 21, and Savanna Ochoa, 20, were identified as the drivers of the cars.

    Anthony Hernandez, 18, was a passenger in the car Acosta was driving.

    Police said Acosta and Ochoa were both driving while intoxicated. They were both arrested along with Hernandez for being in possession of marijuana.

    Acosta was also charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence during the traffic stop, police said.

    All three El Pasoans were booked into jail downtown.
