Saving money on your pets

Pets are a part of our family, but they can sure be costly.

In this week’s Scoop on Savings, feeding your pet quality food is one of the easiest ways to keep your pet healthy, and away from the vet.

According to PetMD, a properly balanced diet ensures that your pet will remain in good health, with a strong immune and digestive system.

You also want to make sure your pet exercises regularly. PetMD says, an overweight or obese pet, can be more prone to suffer from expensive, life-threatening health issues, like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. All they need is 15 to 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

AARP also recommends grooming your pets on your own. Giving baths, nail trims, or cleaning your pet’s teeth on your own, can save you more than going to a professional groomer. The internet has plenty of grooming guides. YouTube is one of them.

If you have any questions, talk to your veterinarian.
