Meet Sunny the 7-year-old Chihuahua who's looking for a new home

Meet Sunny the 7-year-old Chihuahua

November is National Adopt a Senior Dog Month and although it's close to over our local shelters would like to encourage our community to consider adopting senior pets year round.

Sunny is one of twenty-four thousand animals that will enter the city shelter this year and shelter leaders tell KFOX14 that about 12% of the animals they intake are 6 years and older.

As for Sunny he has been at the shelter for three weeks now after he was found wandering by himself along Doniphan Drive in West El Paso.

He did not have any pet I.D, tags or a microchip and so far no one has claimed him. He has stolen the hearts of employees and volunteers at the shelter and is looking for a new home. He loves belly rubs, cuddles and is a lap dog who really doesn't take up much space.

If you're interested in adopting Sunny please visit the Animal Services of El Paso at 5001 Fred Wilson Rd. in northeast El Paso or go online to find out more information on adoption.
