Firefighters and furry friends; pet adoption event hosted at local fire station

Firefighters at station 30 will help host free adoption event with El Paso Animal Services.

Local firefighters will help host a free adoption event at Firehouse #30 in far northeast El Paso. The event will be Thursday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The El Paso Fire Department is working with the City of El Paso Animal Services to help saves lives and promote adoptions from the shelter and responsible pet ownership .

Officials tell KFOX14 this partnership allows the shelter to expand their adoption efforts and community outreach.

All adoptions will include their spay/neuter procedure, age-appropriate initial vaccinations, microchip, city license and 30 days of free pet health insurance.

There will be a limited amount of animals available for adoption at the location and they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Firehouse #30 is located at 4451 Loma Clara Court.

Officials plan on hosting future free adoption events through out November at the following fire stations:

Fire Station 24 (East El Paso)
1498 Lomaland Dr.
November 7th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Fire Station 5 (Central)
400 Revere St.
November 10th from 3 p.m to 6 p.m.

Fire Station 15 (Upper Valley)
115 Shorty Lane
November 18th from Noon to 3 p.m.
