Animals displaced by Harvey continue to search for homes in El Paso

Four-legged rescues left behind after Hurricane Harvey in Houston made their way to El Paso but are still searching for forever homes.

Animal Rescue League of El Paso took in a total of 20 cats and dogs from Houston last month.

The animals were picked up and saved by Marley Mutt Dog Rescue from California, whose rescuers drove to Texas to aid animals impacted by Hurricane Harvey. They loaded up an RV and took these abandoned animals on a road trip across Texas to El Paso so they could be in a safe place, receive medical treatment and begin the search for loving homes.

Some of the animals have found a happy ever after following the natural disaster they endured, but there are still about a dozen who are at the shelter patiently waiting to be adopted.

Puddles is a handsome 4-year-old Tibetan spaniel. Shelter employees say he likes to play fetch and cuddle.

Then there's Beethoven who's a sweet and active 2-year-old Jack Russell and Basset hound mix.

Lydia is a year-old terrier mix who’s loveable and Haisely is a shepherd mix who is another sweet girl who’s just enjoying being safe and cozy. Both are social and like to cuddle and play.

There are some puppies with a bundle of energy who are all 4 months old and include sweet girls who are a pit bull mix. Their names are Babe and Ruth and they're sisters. Then there’s Kent who is a shepherd mix.

Natalie and Nicole are another pair of sisters who are a hound mix. They are 6 months old.

If you fancy felines, there are some cats and kittens in this bunch who will steal your heart.

There is a group of five brothers who are 2 months old; Oreo, Gilbert, Gizmo, Winston, and Max. You could adopt one or all of them!

If you’re interested in adopting any of these rescues, please contact Animal Rescue League of El Paso.
