El Paso, Texas — Multiple people will tell you that pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America. Invented in the mid 1960s, pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of table tennis, badminton and tennis. Originally invented as a children's backyard game, it now has competitive players of all ages.
For this week's "Do My Job," KFOX14 morning news anchor Kelly Anne Beile heads over to FiveSet Net Sports to learn the game and shadow a pickleball instructor.
FiveSet Net Sports is an open gym concept for both volleyball and pickleball players. It draws in people from Las Cruces to El Paso and will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Sept. 22.
Introductory pickleball lessons are provided for free at FiveSet Net Sports. Call (888) 624-4108 to set up a time and follow them on Facebook for the latest in pickleball news.
