Traffic stop leads to drug, drunken driving arrestsBy: Jesse MartinezEL PASO, Texas Two people were arrested on drug charges early Sunday morning after the driver ran a stop sign, police said. Police stopped a red 2005 Dodge Charger around 12:26 a.m. at Lafayette and Yermoland drives. Steven Macedo, 22, was driving with Carina Garcia, 17, as his passenger. Police said Macedo appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested. Garcia gave police a fake name, and police said they found less than two ounces of marijuana inside the vehicle. Garcia was charged with failure to identify, possession of marijuana and three outstanding municipal warrants. Macedo was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level greater than or equal to 0.15 percent, obstruction or retaliation and possession of marijuana. The two were booked into the county jail.
