Connect With Zach Covey

Zach Covey joined the KFOX14/CBS 4 team this month as the weekend meteorologist and multimedia journalist.

Covey is a military brat who has lived all around the globe. Spending a lot of time on the East Cast, Covey quickly became fascinated with severe and tropical weather.

He attended Florida State University to further his studies in meteorology. While at FSU, Covey participated in the student-run television show "FSU Weather," which aired nightly on the local PBS station. He became a producer for the show, creating the graphics and leading the news team his junior year, and became the executive producer his senior year.

Covey graduated from FSU in the spring of 2016 with his bachelor's degree in meteorology.

His junior year of college, Covey became the weekend weather forecaster and weekday fill-in at WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, Florida. While there, he covered everything from tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in the winter to tropical storms and hurricanes in the summer.

Covey is excited to make El Paso home. Coming from such a sunny climate in Florida, he feels he will fit right in.
