Michael Ikahihifo joined the KFOX14 news team in September 2017 as a multimedia journalist.
Michael was born in Long Beach, California, and grew up in Lancaster, California. He is proud of his Tongan heritage and comes from a loving family of five siblings.
Michael traded in the snow for the sun when he moved to the Borderland after graduating from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.
While in college, Michael danced with BYU’s Living Legends, traveling to such countries as Canada, New Zealand and Tonga. He was also a member of his school’s a cappella group and participated in a variety of clubs.
Michael took a break from school to serve a two-year church mission in Philadelphia.
He became interested in journalism when he was 13. Michael remembers watching the news every night with his grandmother and feeling a desire to pursue broadcast journalism as a career.
Since moving to El Paso, Michael has fallen in love with the amazing food, rich culture and kindhearted people.
