Recall Alert: Twinkies, veggie trays and cat food
Hostess Brands has issued a voluntary recall for its Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies over a possible salmonella contamination. The recall comes after a third-party chocolate supplier, Blommer Chocolate Company, reported the issue.
The Twinkies were sold in multipack boxes. This recall does not affect any other Hostess products.
No illnesses have been reported but customers are asked not to eat the Twinkies and return them to the store for a refund. Customers with questions can call the company at 800-483-7253.
Meanwhile, Mann Packing has issued a voluntary recall for its Organic Veggie Snack Trays with Organic Ranch Dip due to mislabeling.
The company reports that egg, milk, soy and mustard was not labelled on the list of ingredients, which could cause an allergic reaction for some customers. The trays have a “Best if Used By” date of Jan. 14.
No illnesses have been reported but customers with allergies to those ingredients are asked to call the company at 800-285-1002.
Finally, J.M. Smucker Company has expanded a recall on cat food that does not have enough B1 vitamin inside it.
The recall includes some 9Lives, EverPet and Special Kitty canned cat food. Cats that don’t get enough of the B1 vitamin can become sick and experience a decreased appetite, vomiting and weight loss, among other symptoms.
