Recall Alert: Toyota, GM, Sargento cheese and PetSmart
Toyota has issued a recall for 72,847 pickup trucks over an issue with the vehicles' rear bumpers.
The automaker reports that resin brackets holding the bumper could get damaged and the truck’s owner might not notice. If a person steps on a damaged bumper, part of it could break off.
Toyota's 2016-2017 Tundras are affected by this recall. The automaker will replace resin rear bumper replacements with steel brackets. It will also replace the rear bumper tread free of charge.
Toyota says the repair parts are not ready quite yet but it will begin sending notices to drivers about the defect on Wednesday. A second notice will be sent out once the repair parts are ready.
Toyota’s number for this recall is H0C. Owners with questions can contact the company at 800-331-4331.
Meanwhile, General Motors has issued a recall for 91,007 cars over an issue with the airbags. The automaker reports that the passenger air bag suppression system sensor could get bent or damaged. When that happens, the passenger-side airbag might not deploy in the event of an accident.

GM is still trying to come up with a fix for this defect. As a result, it has yet to say when it will be notifying customers about the recall. GM’s number for this recall is 17036. Drivers with questions can contact the automaker at 900-762-2737.
