Northeast Veterans Day Parade

El Paso showed its appreciation Friday morning by lining up for the annual Northeast Veteran's Day Parade.

About 50 soldiers from Fort Bliss carried a 5,000-square-foot American flag to the Old Glory Memorial Flag site, where a ceremony took place.

High school bands along with Boy and Girl Scout troops were some of the few who showed their appreciation and respect.

"The veterans protected us and went to war for us and we are just here to be patriots and support what they did for us," said Jonathan Evans, who attended the parade.

El Paso congressman Beto O’Rourke and Fort Bliss Garrison Commander Col. Mike Hester were the guest speakers at the ceremony.
