Woman who lived in El Paso among 8 shot near Dallas

Myah Sade Bass who lived in El Paso was killed in the mass shooting that happened in Dallas.

A woman with ties to El Paso is one out of eight people killed during a shooting in Plano, Texas, on Sunday.

Myah Sade Bass, 28, moved to Dallas from El Paso with the goal to get her dual license in barbering and cosmetology, according to co-workers.

Bass was at a Dallas Cowboys football game watch party when a gunman opened fire on the group, according to Plano police.

Her colleagues at Capone’s Barbershop in east El Paso are working with a heavy heart today, thinking about Bass, who they considered family.

“Very compassionate, very helpful. She had an outstanding personality, always smiled, sweet words: love, boo, babe, always very nice,” said Raul Aguilar, a barber at Capone’s.

Bass was a barber with Capone’s for nearly four years.

“She was one of the best. She taught a lot of people,” said Robert Miranda, manager at Capone’s.

“She held her own. It’s hard to come into a male-oriented shop and stake your name. Everybody knew her. She had her clientele. She laughed. She was just part of the team, part of our family,” said Miranda.

Bass’s colleagues said she is leaving behind her husband, her mother and siblings.

Capone’s is hosting a fundraiser to help with funeral expenses.
