The city will host the first of three meetings to discuss upcoming trailhead projects on Wednesday. The meetings are designed for the public to come and learn about construction plans for the projects.

There are four trailhead projects in total, and they’ll be located adjacent to the trails for the public to park, have a picnic or rest before or after their hike. The city says that construction also includes pet waste stations.

The projects are part of the 2012 Quality of life Bond and have a budget of $2 million.

The trailhead project that the city will discuss on Wednesday is for the Roundhouse and Lazy Cow trails in Northeast El Paso. That meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Nolan Richardson Middle School’s cafeteria.

The city will host another meeting on Thursday for plans to build a trailhead off of Thunderbird in West El Paso. That meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Western Hills Elementary school.

Next week, the city will discuss plans to construct a trailhead at the base of the Thousand Steps trail in West El Paso. That’ll take place at 6 p.m. this Monday at Mesita Elementary School.
