Temporary closure of Sioux Street scheduled for construction
EL PASO, Texas —
The city of El Paso Capital Improvement Department has scheduled a temporary closure of Sioux Street for construction.
The closure is scheduled to begin June 18 and last one month.
It's part of the Edgemere Parkway Improvements project, and the city said it is necessary to allow construction crews to complete their work efficiently and safely.
The proposed project is funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and supports the developments of a pedestrian and bicycle corridor along Edgemere Boulevard, just to the east of Geronimo Drive and west of Robert E. Lee Road.
The approximate $1 million project consists of the construction of a 10-foot pedestrian and bicycle path with trees, vegetation, new lighting, and ADA ramps.
