El Pasoans captured weeks after aggravated assault in northeast

Two suspects involved in an aggravated assault less than a month ago were captured by authorities.

KFOX14 previously reported the shooting the night it happened. El Paso police said an argument escalated after a weapon was fired at a home in northeast El Paso.

On April 25, El Paso police responded to a “shots fired” call in the 10400 block of Omega Circle, just before 9 p.m.

Investigators with the department’s gang unit learned that an argument escalated between four people.

The victims, a 32-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, were confronted by 33-year old Andy Salazar and 29-year-old Fabiola Payan, according to police.

Payan is accused of hitting the woman in the head with a bottle. Salazar allegedly fired a weapon at the man and threatened the woman.

Warrants for Salazar and Payan were issued. Both were arrested on Wednesday along Ronnie Rief Dr. off of Vista Del Sol Drive in east El Paso.

The two were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
