A man accused of using a syringe to steal money has been arrested.

Juan Reynaldo Bernal, 49, was identified as the man involved in a robbery at an East Side Sally Beauty store in December.

El Paso police said a police commander saw Bernal on Thursday at an auto shop and remembered the description of the man who robbed the beauty-supply store on Dec. 18.

An investigation revealed that Bernal had evidence connecting him to the robbery.

Police believe Bernal used a syringe filled with red liquid to threaten the Sally Beauty employee.

Bernal allegedly got away with money from the beauty-supply store.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $50,000 bond on a charge of aggravated robbery as well as several traffic warrants.
