Revitalization plans in the works for century-old church in central El Paso
EL PASO, Texas - A historic church in central El Paso that has been vacant for years is getting a modern look and new owners.
A local architecture company has plans to bring life back into a church at 915 N. Florence St. designed by Henry Trost.
The Westminster Presbyterian Church located in the Rio Grande Historic District of El Paso was built in the early 1900s.
Architect company, In*Situ, was contracted to renovate the church for the Ciudad Nueva Community Outreach.
Ciudad Nueva Community Outreach is a public charity that serves the Rio Grande neighborhood, according to its website (ciudadnueva.org).
According to In*Situ's website, the new plans will restore much of Trost's original vision for the church.
