Rep. Mary Gonzalez could keep Dist. 75 seat in Texas House
Incumbent state Rep. Mary Gonzalez leads the race for the District 75 seat in the Texas House of Representatives against Chente Quintanilla (D).
Quintanilla held Gonzalez's seat for 10 years from 2003 to 2013. He did not run in 2012 and instead ran for County Commissioner Precinct 3, but lost to Vince Perez.
Meanwhile, in 2012, voters elected Mary Gonzalez who then ran unchallenged in 2012.
On the eve of Super Tuesday, Quintanilla told KFOX14 he was confident he would win. According to his campaign website, his top priorities are education, transportation and agriculture.
Gonzalez told CBS4 she wanted to continue her work in Austin. As a member of the Public Education Committee and former educator, she said her top priority is education.
District 75 represents 165,404 people, a small portion of El Paso, Horizon City, Socorro, Clint and Fabens.
