Man travels cross-country hoping to open free toy stores makes stop in El Paso

El PASO, Texas - Man travels cross-country hoping to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate children during Christmas.

Josh Hart is originally from Bend, Oregon. Hart said he became inspired with the idea of helping children five years ago.

He decided to open up a free toy store and help needy families during the holidays. He said the families come to the Oregon store by appointment and pick out toys for the children for free.

Hart said the store idea grew into a nonprofit organization called Operation Elf Box.
He is on the 3,100-mile bike ride from San Diego to St. Augustine, Florida, with his dog, Shoeless Joe, sharing the vision of his organization.

Hart made a stop in El Paso Wednesday morning hoping to inspire others to contribute to his cause of opening up free toy stores nationwide.
