Man facing animal cruelty charge turns self in, police say
A dog found in a deteriorating condition by El Paso police’s animal cruelty unit had to be put down, a police official said.
The dog was found emaciated and underweight in October when police officers went to a home on the 100 block of Maryland Drive to assist Animal Services officers, police sad.
The dog was also suffering from multiple chronic wounds, police said.
Police said “Fergie” has to be euthanized because of its deteriorating condition.
A warrant for cruelty to a non-livestock animal was issued for Christopher Royval. He turned himself in Tuesday.
He was booked into the EL Paso County Detention Facility on a $5,000 bail.
