Friday, people across the nation celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday as part of the Read Across America program.

One of those people included Las Palmas Medical Centers CEO Don Karl. He read Dr. Seuss’ stories to young patients and their parents in honor of Seuss’ 144th birthday.

Karl wore a Cat in the Hat-style hat as he read books like "The Foot Book" and the popular "Cat in the Hat" to brighten up the day for patients, and bring some happiness to the hospital.
