Las Cruces man accused of randomly stabbing 2 expected in court

Police say 22-year-old Marco Galvan stabbed a 17-year-old boy on July 27, 2016 and then a 39-year-old man the next day.

A Las Cruces man accused of injuring two people in random stabbing attacks is expected in court Wednesday.

Police say 22-year-old Marco Galvan stabbed a 17-year-old boy on July 27, 2016 and then a 39-year-old man the next day.

Galvan faces two charges of aggravated battery.

Police say both incidents appear to be random.

The 39-year-old victim was airlifted to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and told police that Galvan was homeless.

The 17-year-old’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

The hearing is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
