A Las Cruces man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend was arrested Tuesday.

Hampton allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and threatened to do so for days, police said.

Police said Hampton removed the duct tape from the woman around 5 p.m. Monday and allowed her to get dressed.

Around midnight Tuesday, the woman told Hampton she wanted to smoke a cigarette, but instead she asked for help at a neighbor’s residence, police said.

He faces charges of kidnapping, criminal sexual penetration, aggravated battery against a household member and false imprisonment.

He was booked into the county jail and he is initially being held without bond.

Police said the woman and her two children were not seriously injured during the incident.
