Jury selection begins for man accused in murder over ecstasy

Jury selection began for a man accused in the 2013 death of Jose Castanon.

Ricardo Macias Jr. is accused of breaking a jar over the victim’s head and stomping him to death over ecstasy pills, court documents said.

Macias is accused of murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Macias is one of three suspects in the case, along with Brianna Garray and Sonia Bautista.

Garray had her trial pushed from Monday to July 21.

Bautista was convicted of murder in 2015 and is now serving a 48-year sentence.
