Irvin Gonzalez waived her arraignment, entered plea of not guilty
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
A transgender woman's immigration case was held before a federal judge Thursday morning.
Irvin Gonzalez waived her arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty.
The transgender woman is allegedly a victim of abuse. She was arrested in February by ICE agents while at an El Paso courthouse getting a protective order.
Her immigration status shows she was in the country unlawfully at the time of her arrest. She already had previously been deported six times and voluntarily deported once.
The media was not allowed inside judge Robert Castaneda's courtroom.
