Inmate walks away from satellite camp prison in Anthony

An inmate, who was in custody for trying to distribute methamphetamine, walked away from the La Tuna Federal Satellite Camp Prison in Anthony, Texas, Saturday morning, said a spokesman with the prison.

Gerardo Gomez, 39, was discovered missing from the minimum security facility at 11:45 Saturday morning, the spokesman said.

Gomez is described as a Hispanic male, with black hair, black eyes, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 175 pounds.

He was sentenced to 188 months in the facility for “Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine and 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine”, according to a press release.
