Faulty underground cable causes outage for more than 2,300 customers

Residents living in the Lee Trevino and Pebble Hills are were without electricity Wednesday morning.

El Paso Electric said it about 2,300 of its customers in east El Paso were without power since 6:40 a.m.

A faulty underground cable is to blame for the outage, said EPE officials.

A tweet from the company indicated that crews were working to replace the cable.

Electricity was restored around 7:30 a.m. to customers.
