El Paso Cares: EPISD, local news stations, car dealerships coming together to help Houston
EL PASO, Texas —
The El Paso Independent School District, new car dealerships and news stations are joining forces to help those who need it most in southeast Texas.
El Paso Cares is an initiative to help families impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
EPISD, El Paso car dealerships and local news stations are collecting items for shelters in Houston.
The collection will continue through Sept. 8.
Collection spots include all EPISD high schools and all new car dealerships. Please note that EPISD collections will take place during school hours. People who wish to donate during the weekend may do so any new car dealership or the Entravision offices.
Supplies needed include:
- Shampoo and conditioner
- New or gently used towels
- Razors and shaving cream
- Baby food
- New Socks and underwear
- New or gently used children’s clothing
- School supplies
- Bottled water (drop-off at car dealerships and Entravision only)
The public is asked to donate items from this list only as other donations may not be suitable
for delivery or may not be absolutely necessary at this time in Houston. Clothing and towel
donations should be delivered to the collection sites washed and clean.
All donated supplies will be transported by truck to the Houston area by Mesilla Valley
Transportation by Sept. 8.
