Subject in central El Paso SWAT situation shoots self, dies, authorities say
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
The person who prompted a SWAT situation in a central El Paso neighborhood has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the El Paso Sheriff’s Office.
The incident started around 9 a.m. at a home on Carlyle Street near Trowbridge Drive.
Authorities say an eviction notice was being served to a resident, who then displayed a firearm.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called in after the person barricaded themselves inside the home.
Around 1:45 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office said the person died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
