Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliot wishes Henderson Chess Team good luck

Ezekiel Elliot wished the Henderson chess team good luck on their trip to nationals.

The Henderson Middle School Chess Team will head to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in nationals on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the team got some words of encouragement from a National Football League superstar.

The team was surprised after school during its practice with a 10-second video from the Dallas Cowboys star running back, Ezekiel Elliot.

“Hey Henderson Chess Team,” said Elliot to start off the video. “I wanted to congratulate you guys on winning the state championship and wish you guys good luck in nationals.”

After watching the video, the team seemed shocked but was followed by applause and cheers.

Some students from the team said it was great to see this video because it gave them extra motivation to try and win nationals.

The woman who was able to get the video from Elliot said she wished to remain anonymous, but said she did this in order to motivate the team. She said she wanted the team to know how much support they have and that anything is possible.
