Police identify teen killed on Hardy Circle
EL PASO, Texas —
Police have identified the 16-year-old girl who was killed after a gun was fired inside a Central El Paso home last week.
Gabriela Pitones died at University Medical Center after an apparent accidental shooting.
Officers were called to the 400 block of Hardy Circle near Dulany Avenue last Wednesday just after 3:30 a.m.
Investigators found out that Pitones and Victory Lago-Elama, 18, had been in possession of a handgun.
During the handling of the gun, it discharged, striking the teen, police said.
Lago-Elama was arrested for an outstanding aggravated robbery case and is not facing charges related to the shooting at this time, according to police.
Lago-Elama was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on the outstanding warrant.
