Vehicle appears to be a dark colored cargo van. El Paso police believe it was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed 12-year-old Kianna Johnson.

El Paso police need the public’s help in identifying a van believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run.

KFOX14 previously reported on the death of 12-year-old Kianna Johnson who had walked away from her home on Feb. 12.

While she tried crossing the 5600 block of Dyer Avenue, a vehicle struck and killed her, according to police.

On Friday, police released images of the vehicle they believe hit Johnson.

It appears to be a dark-colored cargo van.

The image given to the media is hard to make out because the vehicle looks like it was going fast.

Johnson, who was autistic, had walked out of her house, located about 15 minutes away from the scene, in the middle of the night, police said.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the driver involved in the crash or the location of the vehicle is urged to immediately contact Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-8477(TIPS), or online at You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you can qualify for a cash reward.
