Sheriff's investigators identified the man who was electrocuted last week.

Alberto Morales Del La Torre, 36, died after he was electrocuted at a Canutillo business, according to a spokeswoman with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened Wednesday on the 200 block of Los Mochis Drive near Doniphan Drive.

Chris Acosta with the El Paso County Sheriff's office said deputies responded to the industrial incident just before 2:30 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they found Del La Torre.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office crime scene unit is still investigating the incident, according to Acosta.

KFOX14 spoke to a witness who was there when the situation happened.

The witness did not want to be identified.

"We heard a loud bang," the witness said. "I went to see what was happening and when I turned the corner I saw the man on the ground. The paramedics were there but they weren't attempting CPR on him. I think he was dead on the scene."

The witness said this situation could have been avoided.

"What I understood from the talk with the contractors there, was that there was no license electrician on site," the witness said. "I believe someone that was unqualified was pulling electrical lines that got electrocuted. Everybody on the job site had the understanding there was no longer currents going through the lines."

"I do send my condolences out to the family, it's a terrible thing that happened," the witness said.
