Argument of 'blunt' ends in Las Cruces couple stabbing each other

A man and a woman in a romantic relationship are accused of stabbing each-other after a "blunt" went missing.

Jesus Moreno Jr. blamed his girlfriend for stealing a blunt of his, said police. That's when an argument among the two began and escalated when Moreno allegedly grabbed his girlfriend from behind and began to strangle her.

The woman told police she grabbed a folding knife that she carries and stabbed Moreno in the leg, said police.

Las Cruces police responded to a double-stabbing and found the couple with stab wounds to their legs, said police.

Moreno and his girlfriend were taken to Mountainview Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police booked Moreno into the Doña AnaCounty Detention Center where he’s initially being held without bond.

He is facing charges of one count of aggravated battery against a household member.
