A former soldier was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday in connection with the deadly shooting of Anthony Bowler.

Prosecutors said Alberto Antonio Mendiola thought Bowler was in a relationship with his estranged wife.

Mendiola, 28, was convicted of manslaughter Tuesday.

The jury acquitted him on one count of murder, instead finding him guilty of manslaughter.

Mendiola was also fined $10,000.
