Robbery suspect connected to seven El Paso businesses

A suspect connected to six armed robberies that occurred between Sept. 24 to Oct. 8 has been arrested, police said.

Jose Luis Martinez, 27, was arrested on Oct. 9 around 2 a.m. during a traffic stop, police said.

He is accused of using a knife when he burglarized a Circle K, a Family Dollar and four 7-Eleven convenience stores.

Police said at his last robbery, at PLS Check Cashing Store, he threatened to burn down the business as he held a container of gasoline.

They said Martinez was charged with seven counts of aggravated robbery and possession of cocaine.
