SISD school kicks off bullying prevention program with concert for students
EL PASO, Texas - Students of a Socorro Independent School District are starting off the school year by prevent bullying at school.
On Wednesday, Campestre Elementary School got all the kids involved in an anti-bullying prevention rally. The students dressed like rock stars and sang along to songs associated with anti-bullying they are now getting familiar with.
"We kind of wanted to make like a concert type of kick off. But it's interesting because the kids get into it. And we've been playing the music all week long in our morning announcements and the kids are getting into it and they see that this is a great event for us," said Nadia De La Rosa, principal of Campestre Elementary school.
De La Rosa said it is also exciting for the school because the band is made up entirely of faculty and staff.
