Happy National Tequila Day! Grab that lime and salt – and listen in -- on the tequila deals you’ll find around the borderland --
DrinkingInAmerica.com says tequila got its big break during the 16th century in Tequila, Mexico, where it was first distilled. The U.S. finally caught on in 1873, when Jose Cuervo shipped the first barrels to El Paso.
But where can you get good deals on tequila today?
La Posta de Mesilla in Las Cruces is getting in on the celebration.
They’re offering $5 off their tequila flights.
They’ll also have $5 margarita specials, and $10 loaded shrimp cocktails, all day!
Another place offering deals on National Tequila Day is Ojos Locos El Paso. They’ll be offering $2 margaritas today, all day, starting at 11 this morning. They’re located off Airway in east El Paso.
Another favorite is Los Bandidos de Carlos and Mickeys. This month, they have a special on their Mango Margarita. The El Paso size is $6.50. They’ll also have $1 off drinks and free botana from 4 to 7 in the afternoon.
