Carpe Diem: Smart Bulbs

This week we shined a light on "smart bulbs." These are bulbs that once installed in a light fixture can be connected to the internet in your home via Bluetooth.

The smart bulb is then controlled from an app from your smartphone or Android. You can set the color and the intensity of the light it emits, and even turn the light on and off from anywhere in the world. But how do you install it?

Simple, says Adam Gamwell of Gamwell Technologies. You take it out of the box, put it in the socket, download the app and launch it. Gamwell says, "Honestly the hardest part is learning all the features." On Gear Friday, we'll show you more about where to get these so called "smart bulbs" and how much they cost.
