Update: Police confirm shooting victim has died, 3 people in custody
UPDATE: A police spokesperson confirmed that 18-year-old Aaron Ochoa has died after being shot Thursday evening in central El Paso. Police said Miguel Bygovtia, 19, Gustavo Valencia, 17, and Armando Torres, 18, were in custody.
Investigators believe Bygovtia and Valencia are the suspected shooters and Torres was the getaway driver.
All three face a murder charge and were booked into the county jail with bonds set at $1 million each for Bygovtia and Torres, and $150,000 for Valencia.
EL PASO, Texas - Police are investigating a shooting in Central El Paso Thursday evening.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Stanton and Rio Grande. Police said an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times as he walked through the parking lot.
"What we know at this point is multiple shots were fired at one individual that individual is a male and was struck multiple times. He was transported to University Medical Center where he is being treated at this time," said police spokesperson Mike Baranyay.
One witness told KFOX14 that he heard several shots. "I heard about six to eight shots," said Eric Ward. Ward owns a tattoo shop close to where the shooting occurred.
Police are currently looking for a black SUV believed to be occupied by three or four people. Police said that vehicle was last seen traveling east on Rio Grande.
